Plating/Coating: The tube features a tinned (electro-tin plated) surface. This tin plating provides critical advantages:

Solderability: Enhances the ability to be easily soldered, ensuring a permanent, low-resistance bond if required.

Hollow Tube Design (“Empty Tube“): The open barrel copper connector is a hollow cylinder. This design is specifically intended to accommodate the insertion of electrical conductors (e.g., wires, cables) from both ends.

Longitudinal Slot: A precisely machined longitudinal slot runs along the body of tinned copper lug. This is a critical functional feature:

For Crimping: When a crimping tool compresses the tube, this slot allows the tube to deform uniformly and grip the inserted conductor(s) tightly, ensuring a secure mechanical and electrical connection.

Venting/Oil Flow: As specified, the open slot ensures the tube does not block oil (“doesn't block oil”). This is essential for use in oil-filled electrical equipment (like transformers, switchgear) or hydraulic systems, allowing fluids to flow freely through the connection point, preventing pressure build-up and ensuring proper function.

Primary Function and Application:

The primary function of this tin plated copper tube is to join two electrical conductors or to terminate a conductor to a specific terminal. This is achieved by:

Inserting the prepared ends of the conductors into opposite ends of the tube.
